Haymarket Hounds is a worker-owned petcare collective. Our objective is to provide compassionate petcare services in the city of Chicago. We believe that workers in control of their labor are more motivated to provide the best service to both our human and non-human clients.

As worker-owners, our walker (or sitter)'s build strong, direct relationships with their clients, unmediated by bureaucracy. All our petcare providers have over 5 years of full-time professional petcare experience and their ownership stakes in the company mean they are much more invested than a worker at any other pet service company. When you hire Haymarket Hounds to take care of your pets, you can rest easy knowing that your petcare provider is not a temp worker punching a clock, but is dedicated to the service of your animal(s).

Furthermore, we are committed to creating jobs that pay living wages, helping the local economy and community grow—all at a very affordable rate!

All our services are fully insured thru Pet Care Insurance (PCI) including employee dishonesty coverage (essentially bonding), tho we have no employees who aren’t also fully responsible as part owners.
